As I’m sitting down for coffee on this fine Fourth of July morning, I’d like to scREAM THAT I’M FINALLY BACK IN THE BOOK BLOGOVERSE! *sips coffee* Ahhhh, yesssss.
A couple of days ago, I randomly wiped the three inches of dust off of my laptop and took a look at this lonely ol’ website and went, heck, I miss this little piece of internet I call mine and need to bring it back into my life! And so, I busied myself with a simple little header, found the perfect grid layout that I’ve been wanting, and tweaked it to my liking. Ta-da! I can’t wait to get started. *rubs hands together*
Just because, let’s finish this off interview-style.
So, um, who are you exactly..?
I’m so glad you asked. Hi, nice to meet you, I’m Rosie. I’m 27 (sniff) and I used to run another book blog called Rosie Reads, which I had from 2014 to about 2016. I let it run its course for those 2 years or so, and then decided to step off the blog scene for a while. But then this past February, I decided, I want to blog again. So I bought the domain, and here I am–
Wait, you bought this domain in February? It’s JULY!
Woah, woah, woah, I know, some things happened–
Uh, like what?
I was getting to that, stop interrupting! *Ahem* Anyway. Life is a twisty, topsy-turvy rollercoaster, and sometimes I just can’t keep up! It’s pretty much the definition of that one word “adult” that everyone keeps calling me now – it’s so annoying. So basically, since I’m adulting now, I’ve been focused on my job, which requires 40 of my 168 weekly hours, and also cleaning my HOUSE, which, ugh, how does it get so dirty with only two people living in it?! I mean, dishes, laundry, sweeping, scrubbing, and just, UGH. I also have to worry about cooking (eh, sometimes) and exercising (being pushed to the top of my priority list) and then, then, I get my “me” time.
So, if you have all that to do, what makes you think you can run a blog on top of that?
Okay, okay. I just need an outlet, you know? For those rare moments where I do have extra time, I want to be able to talk about the books I’ve read and why I love them or despise them. I also want to just write because it makes me happy. That’s why I called this blog something different; that’s why it’s called Rosie Writes Things, because it’s not just about the books anymore. It’s about my future in writing.
So what does your future look like with writing?
For now, it just boils down to writing in my spare time. I have so many story ideas, and eventually I’d like to share them with you. But for now, they’re all in the beginning stages, so I’ll just continue to read and expand on my ideas and plot devices and what not.
Do you think you’ll update this regularly, then?
Here’s to hoping! Like I said before, life is BUSY¹, and sometimes life slips away from me. I’m going to make a goal to update at least once a week. I think I can manage that for now.
¹seriously, can we sign a petition to get more hours in a day or something???
Well today, as I’ve been going back and forth between writing this and doing various things to my site, I’ve also cooked breakfast, bleached my hair, browsed Facebook, texted my mom, fought off a horde of brain-hungry zombies, and now I need to go take a shower before my town’s July 4th parade starts here at 11am (and before this bleach leaks into my brain). So until then, I bid you adieu, and hopefully I’ll even get a post up BEFORE this time next week! Toodles!
Rosie is SUPER DUPER EXCITED to be back in the blogging world, and can’t wait to get started talking to you — so PLEASE, interact with her since her only form of interaction on a daily basis is with infants under the age of 18 months, and her video game-playing boyfriend who (mostly) can’t talk and play at the same time. ;D
